DescriptionA perfect rendition of Black Bolt by Neal Adams, from Amazing Adventures #5, 1970. What is there to say? Adams was the master when he was firing on all cylinders and here he brings power, energy and dynamic layouts to an otherwise pedestrian but likable 1970s title. I think the team of Adams/Palmer was fantastic and always interesting and attention getting…it got my attention as a kid, and again now. Thanks Joe for a fair trade.Social/Sharing |

Beautiful page! I passed on this one on eBay almost 20 years ago and I have regretted it since. Is the last panel's background a stat?

A truly inspiring and gorgeous page, my favorite from this story. I was just talking with Neal Adams at a show this summer about this very page! Amazing Adventures #5 is my grail comic (although it's art from the second story "And To All A Good Night" that fuel my collecting madness). For some reason, the fact that Neal drew the heels on Black Bolt's boots was a revelation to my second grade self. I had heels on my shoes too, and I thought "This is like a real person flying over a city!"

This is an old friend. Sold this about 10 years ago, but it's still as sweet a page now as it was then. Congrats Rob.

I know Black Bolt is ultra cool on that page, but it's Triton's rising head in panel 3 that stopped me in my tracks. This and the splash page of Avengers 95: definitive version! That's what Neal Adams does...

Very nice Rob! it's got the feel of both bronze and golden age.

What a page! Perhaps the Bronze Age should be renamed "The Neal Adams Age of Comics"!

When I was a kid in the 70's buying older issues at comic shops and conventions, Adams was the man to collect.
And Adams is still the man to collect. Such a great style. Instead of an overly muscular look, his figures have slightly elongated limbs and seem more agile than bulky.
Love this page.
Congrats.
