Description

In just their 4th appearances, Evil Ernie is shocked to see Lady Death appear on earth (previously he had only seen her in her domain due to the "treatments" Dr. Price subjected Ernie to in order to "Cure" him. Dr. Price's "dream probe" allowed Ernie to enter the Eternal Graveyard and meet Lady Death) and she promises him, ummm, anything he wants as long as he keeps on killing for her.

So perfectly early 90's, Lady Death really helped launch the "bad girls" phase into high gear. This is an extremely early example featuring both the central characters and some great posing and content. It's the perfect snapshot of the time period in comics. Rendering in pencil and ink and sepia-tones as the book was rendered in black and white and tonal accents.

Congrats Chris C! In my opinion, that first Evil Ernie mini-series captured Steven Hughes work the best. -Phil

Excellent pick-up Chris! Steven Hughes was "THE" Bad-Girl artist from that time period, for certain. Seeing classic pages like this is always exciting and this one really captures the era perfectly.
