DescriptionNick Pitarra's portion of Immortal Hulk Issue #33:A stroll through Bruce Banner's subconscious with the Worldbreaker as his guide, the child-like Hulk is led to break free from Xemnu's hypnosis. Nick Pitarra's style is perfect for this journey, exploring the literal fragments of Banner's mind, littering the story with homages to legendary and contemporary superstar artists and Easter eggs galore. Absolutely loved this embedded narrative, with the juxtaposition of Pitarra's art, a frivolous take on Banner's mind and Joe Bennett's, his odyssey through the body-horror and gore that has made Immortal Hulk so memorable. This first DPS is a glimpse into Bruce Banner's chaotic Mindscape and an amazing homage to Jack "King" Kirby, complete with Kirby krackle, one of his most famous illustrations of Hulk and as I read on Nick's Twitter feed, a tree that spells out 'Kirby'. And then there's the mass of floating figures, all characters Hulk has tangled with in the past and Brian Banner as the oversized head and blob that has dominated as the main antagonist in Bruce Banner's life. Hulk's look of wonderment absolutely mirrors my reaction when pouring through this page. Social/Sharing |

Lots to look at and subsequently like in this piece! I'm sure you've pored over it, and continue to do so :) I like Nick's more stylized take for this mindscape kind of sequence and as per usual his line work is tops. Congrats, T!

Excellent pages from one of the most memories series of the last ten years. Pitarra always brings his unique voice to every project, and he was a perfect fit for this chapter.
