DescriptionHere is the mother of all Jams!! Two years in the making for me after Wizard gave up,lol. Wizard wanted to do a special anniversary piece for the magazine so they got George Perez to do the layouts on most and then sent the piece all over the world to get all the star artists to do their key characters they were most associated with. The project kept getting held up and it was just too much trouble to get it completed. There are almost 150 characters in this mammoth Jam Poster Illustration.I love how the whole piece has direction. All the characters are either moving right on their respective side, left, or right in front of ya.We have here.. Full figure pencil and inks of Spawn and Spiderman by Todd Mcfarlane. There is no other piece to my knowledge that has spidey and spawn hand drawn by Todd on the same board. They have a combined image of 11x11in with that incredible spaghetti webbing. Alex Ross- Superman Travis Charest- Grifter Jim Lee/Scott Williams- Batman George Perez-Wonder woman, Starfire, Scarlet Witch, Beast, and the Thing Erik Larsen-Savage Dragon Danger Girl, Fairchild, Grunge, Roxie, Burnout, and Rainmaker are all by J. Scott Campbell Then I had David Finch do everyone else over George Perez's layouts. It is huge, 23X39in David Finch is one of my favorite artists out there today and it was an honor to have him finish this incredible piece of history. Parts of it were published in a 1990's Wizard Magazine. Social/Sharing |

I've never been a fan of Jam pieces, as most seem to be very lackluster and simply a waste of funds that I would rather put into published pieces. But what you have here is the most planned out Jam sheet that I've ever seen and it would be a no-brainer addition into the comic art musuem. Simply stunning and unbelievable when you see the artists that have contributed to this masterpiece.
Congrats Matt, as your collection gets more and more insane with each piece that add.

This is insane in the best way possible! I can hardly believe my eyes. I love that you have a pic of the piece before David Finch took over and worked his magic. It's like Finch is a master builder who took one of the strongest foundations ever and built the Mall Of America on and around it.

Looks like you outdid and outlasted Wizard to accomplish something truly beyond their imagination with this result. Now to find a place where this completed work can be printed!

I'm not as excited as you are by some of those artists and yet, that is indeed the (poster) jam to cap them all. Positively insane and many thanks for sharing.
(I'm not one to go for the usual clichés but THIS needs publication).

Yikes! This is just crazy amazing!!! I could stare at it for days and still feel like I didn't take it all in. Great background story as well-makes it even more of an intriguing piece of artwork.

No words to do this justice.
What an amazing project. Agree with others that this must see print somewhere.
Beyond impressive.

This jam is so amazing, I opened and closed like 4 times as I kept finding new characters each time I did that. Spidy and Spawn team up would be so fun.
thanks for sharing this masterpiece.

It was so long ago, but I'm pretty sure I inked Jim's Batman.

It's crazy just to think about the sheer talent on and scale of this piece even before David Finch got it, and he knocked it out of the park to finish it up. It's too bad Wizard isn't still around, or this would be perfect as a cover (or more appropriately, a fold-out poster). Congrats!

This isn't a jam, this is a whole smorgasbord! What an insanely detailed, ridiculously complicated, bizarrely wonderful illustration! I don't know how you pulled this one off, but it's jaw-droppingly cool!
