DescriptionThis is a brutal image of Spider-man from DWJ, as we see the after effects of a nasty tangle with Venom. The signature symbiote tongue wrapped around his upper half suggests that this is far from over and could very well be the end.You can feel the pain here as we clearly see the left arm broken in multiple places and dangling by a thread. The look in Spider-man's one visible eye and his facial expression indicates the seriousness of the situation, and really makes for an unsettling image. This is yet another great example of how well DWJ can convey emotion with the face. The face alone tells a lot, but we already know the severity by the positioning and destruction of the arm, right down to the fingers. I love the use of screen tone on the character. DWJ is becoming a master at using it, and he can apply it very fast! Totally worth checking out one of his Youtube videos if you want to see him in action. Another nice touch is the background and environment itself. The symbol leaves no question as to how Spider-Man has suffered this injury. The rebar and rubble are further proof of the destruction, as Spidey struggles to gather himself on some very unsteady ground. Big thanks to Tony for parting with this Ddubb Spidey! It shall be loved and cherished. Size - 6x9 Social/Sharing |

As a kid, battle-damaged Spidey images haunted me... this is as good as it gets.

Outrageous, and so much fun! I don't believe I'd ever seen Spiderman with a compound fracture before I eyed this commission... Brutal!

How many licks does it take to get Spidey to pop?

Is this even a recoverable event. The sheer agony in his face tells it all.

My thoughts exactly! This is clearly the true origin of Cyborg Spider-Man :)

Gnarly. That's the first thought that came to mind when I saw this DWJ piece. Peter is such a lovable hero (and lovable loser) so you really feel it when his foes tear into him.
