DescriptionOne of the BIG event comics of the 80's was God Loves Man Kills. Every comic reader of a certain vintage of has that graphic novel burned into their brain. I was scrolling online one day and saw that Brent Anderson was not only taking on commissions but, from the examples I saw, just absolutely killing them. They were all spectacular. So, I reached out the Brent and told him my idea in general broad strokes. He got back to me with a very detailed vision for the piece which is what you see in the final creation. Each character tormented by Stryker in a way befitting what Stryker would see as an appropriate bit of individual suffering. The piece captures the essence of Stryker and his monstrous vendetta against mutant kind and Brent really put some very well-executed touches on the piece all around. It's head and shoulders beyond my highest expectations. Social/Sharing |

More than ever, we see Stryker types and their demagoguery used against those who are different as scapegoats in fashion all across the world while they themselves have plenty of skeletons in the closet. Truly a timeless story that has great resonance to define the philosophies of the X-Men and what they represent. Anderson's style is even more refined here than he was in the original story.

Well, you only missed it by a few hours. We'll let it slide this time.

Love all the thought he put into each member's method of capture. He was clearly excited to get to work on this one.

Wow! Stunning Trophy Wall commission by Brent Anderson! I loved this graphic novel as well, and I love what Anderson brought to it. My favorite is the Wolverine with his claws through his own neck. Chilling! Great addition to your wonderful collection!

Chris said . . . "Every comic reader of a certain vintage of has that graphic novel burned into their brain."
So very true! And this is brilliant!
The graphic novel is sitting just a few feet away from me on my "best of" graphic novel book shelf, which I just pulled down to re-read again.
