Description

The first time I saw this I was amazed. The pose, the way he used the red and blue, and his unique style make this one of my favorite pieces from Nick. When I saw it offered from Joseph Melchior here, I jumped on it.

The look of wonder upward and the pose is of a classic hero right out of the movie serials.

Stunning. This may be one of my favorite pieces on all of CAF. The depth and richness Nick is able to get with those blessed colored pencils of his is worthy of legendary status, but he pulls out all the stops and goes to infinity and beyond with this. The folds in the clothing (and the neck of his helmet), the ray gun in that gloved hand, Adam's expression (and his eyes) as he looks up... This is not a piece about anger, revenge, or fear; this is about the youthful spirit of adventure, where wonder will open doors and exploration will lead to unimaginable discoveries. Nick pinned down the very essence of 50's sci-fi along with our Adam Strange here. Just beautiful. Congrats, Fred!
