Description

I remember seeing this piece for the first time years ago, and thought it was Simon Bisley. In fact, Simon did do a similar piece called "Blood Hammer". When I found out it was Alex Horley, I knew this was a new artist I needed to pay attention to. Since then, Alex has really made a name for himself and although his style is heavily influenced by Bisley and Frazetta, it is certainly a style all it's own.

Whenever I look at it, I can't help but hear the sound "PFFFT" from the werewolf's foot leaving the snow. I hear the growl of the beast and the wind as it passes through it's course fur... and Conan's breath exhaling the frozen air as he tenses hoping to defeat the horror hurtling toward him.

I well remember this powerful image, which forced me to buy the book (in fact, the painting was also used for an Italian hard-cover edition) and made me discover the great talent of Alessandro... Congrats!
