Description

When I first started collecting original comic art, I didn't know where to find any of the Jim Lee, John Byrne, Perez, or Miller originals. So, I looked around in various collector galleries, and there was one artist whose work I felt just stood above everyone else's...that was Adam. He was also the first artist whose drawings I wanted to buy just because of the pretty pictures, and never really for the story inside. lol

The acquisition of this piece would not have been possible without Constant remembering how much I wanted to buy any of his prime AH pieces. I didn't know Constant very well, but I sure do appreciate him remembering my interest in this cover. It's so nice when collectors follow through with what they say---So, many, many thanks to Constant Ng for remembering my interest in this cover and of course, selling me this years ago.

Anyway, I love the pose of the three girls and the heavy blacks on the various outfits stands out. Vampi's face was always the prettiest to me. Other collectors tell me they think Lady Death is the hottest of the three.

Still remember the day you brought this by to show me while I was living in San Diego. You were so excited about it and I could see why! Looks as gorgeous now as it did back then (if not more so). Congrats Joe! This is a monster Hughes piece! Now let the avalanche of comments begin!

Honorable write up on this. It really did take too long for Adam to get the recognition that he deserves. He was always above the bar, and I'm glad he finally was seen for his unique touch. Wonderful anecdote, truly sincere, and congrats on the trophy. CheerZ :)

Hey, Joe, it's always an event when you "unveil" one of your hidden treasures. As for the all important question of who is cuter, I'd go with Sarah as she has a more playful and engaging look to her. Lady D. has an air of disaffection and mystery about her, but the chin Adam gave her makes her look like a lady-impersonator, and Vampi's "Oh-I'm-just-stretching" pose makes her look like she's trying too hard.
