DescriptionA commission from the creator of THE DOLPHIN for DC Comics. Scott wrote and drew this character, and although she only had her own series for this one issue, many of us cannot forget it! Scott turned around this commission quickly. When I spoke to him about his inking on this piece, he was talking about his problems. Scott mentioned, "It may be because of my age (86), or just being out of practice, or not being able to find brushes that I like." I told him that it looked like a million bucks to me!R.I.P. 86 years old and he has done this??!!! Astounding. When I grow old I want to be like that. Congratulations, Ray. Very, very nice.

We share a passion for this cover image and character, Ray. I own a gorgeous, super-high-grade copy of Showcase #79 that I wouldn't part with for anything. What a fabulous commission idea you had here.

I fell into love when this came out. I was sorry to see her lost for decades and then to be killed off in one of DC's annual body fests. Wonderful

Wow, for years this cover did not receive the recognition it deserved. Only recently being appreciated the way it should. You scored a coup with this commission. Beautiful !

This was one of the comic books I bought off the spinner rack 40+ years ago. Didn't know who Dolphin was but after flipping through the issue I wanted to know more about her. When she didn't get her own series I was crushed. Can you imagine what the series would have been like? It would have been lovely Jay Scott Pike art every issue. Wow. Must be sweet looking at this recreation by the original artist, Ray. Fantastic idea for your collection.
