DescriptionMarvel just announced at WonderCon 2011 the epic X-Men miniseries that will split the X-Men team in two. And I was lucky enough to do the covers to all 5 issues.Well here it is, ladies and germs. The giant X-Men: Schism cover (5 interlocking covers) that I’ve been slaving over for the last 3 weeks. The original art is 62 inches by 21 inches. It was drawn on three large papers taped together by a special archival tape that the Library of Congress uses. I used my usual Micron Pigma pens (sizes 08 and 01) with a light ink wash and gray Copic markers to accent and separate the figures from the background. I had a blast drawing this cover, despite the new characters who were completely alien to me. I was happy to draw the core characters that I grew up with. Check out www.apesandbabes.com for more info and other artwork. Steve Morger is my art agent. Bother him. Social/Sharing |

Fantastic. I must be a little sick to notice first on the piece of the way you got Aurora and Northstar together.

What ever happend to "No More Mutants"? I miss the old days when there was just a half dozen X-People but this is one of coolest X-Men themed pieces of art I have seen in years. Bravo.

I've seen a lot of these "kitchen sink" type covers before (as in "eveything BUT..."), and while many have been quite nice, I think this monster takes the cake! Truly, truly, impressive Frank! I have no doubt that some lucky collector (one with much deeper pockets than I) will scoop this up at some point, and I can only hope that it's someone I know so I can see this beauty in person up close and personal. Just an amazing job! Wow!!!!!

Very cool. What is the meaning of the McSwiggin and Culo references?

Simply amazing, Mr. Cho. The standouts for me are Moonstar and (especially) Shadowcat. Just a terrific composition, all the way around!!! :D
