NEWTON... Don Newton

Don Newton is another one of those under-appreciated artists.

He started his comics career drawing for fanzines. As a professional, he started at Charlton Comics. Apparently, Newton wanted to work for Marvel. It seems they didn't mesh so Newton spent the vast majority of his career at DC. So, Newton is primarily known for drawing the Phantom, Batman and Captain Marvel (i.e. SHAZAM!)

Although Newton had inked his pencils at Charlton, he usually had inkers at DC and Marvel. I like Alfredo Alcala on Newton's Batman, Kurt Schaffenberger on Newton's Captain Marvel and Dan Adkins on Newton's Aquaman.
