This collection was inspired by and idea borrowed from a good friend Dave W, whose Bob Larkin homage collection reinvigorated my passion for the hobby. Aside from Hulk commissions, I felt I lacked focus in my requests. What better image than Sal Buscema's box art to model a collection after? While I didn't grow up with Sal's Hulk, it's always struck me as the iconic Hulk image. I felt it was unique enough to identify easily, while still being simple enough to replicate leaving plenty of room for each illustrator to have free reign of artistic expression and to inject their personal touch. I also had help with the fact that I already had the Dale Keown homage piece in my collection to get it started off on the right foot. Enjoy!
