Walt Kelly Pogo strips

Tammannany Tiger character in Pogo was a political operator, named in allusion to Tammany Hall which was represented as a tiger in 19th century editorial cartoons by Thomas Nast. He typically appears in election years to offer strategic advice to the reluctant candidate, Pogo. He first appears as a companion to P. T. Bridgeport, although more cynical and less self-aggrandizing than the latter, and is one of only a handful of animals not native to North America to frequent the swamp. I copied the above from a description given by Thomas Ward, who is on this very site! Have a look at his great collection and weep at the beautiful art he has. Since I have been on the lookout for elusive tiger strips from the strip; to have two consecutive ones is a dream come true. The tiger is in all the panels too. Could not get any better.
