I love books and reading. This gallery pulls together the artwork featuring this theme. Most are completed pieces which I purchased. A number are con sketches in which the artist included books without any prompting from me.
I have a behind-the-scenes job at the Alameda County Library where I drive books and other material from our administration building to our various branches. For a couple years, I set up displays of comic and animation art at our Fremont Main Library. I introduced the childrens' librarians to Nick Park's Wrong Trousers and ended up sitting in when they selected titles to expand the graphic novel collection. I showed the handsome Image Leave It to Chance hardcovers by James Robinson and Paul Smith and Antartic Press' Courageous Princess by Rod Espinosa from my own collection. The librarians were impressed and ended up buying multiple copies. I've seen these books go around quite a bit over the years.
My second job is helping my brother's Stuart Ng Books. He drives to Northern California to exhibit at WonderCon and APE. I fly to Los Angeles to help do San Diego Comic-Con and CTNX in Burbank. I also spend lots of time in used bookstores hunting for out-of-print treasures. Once, I found artwork by J. Scott Campbell.
