I have always been fascinated by the Western comics - principally because they depict, in large part, the triumph of good over evil. The more contemporary view that champions shades of grey does not impress me despite the many twists and turns that such an approach affords to those in the field of arts generally. If something is correct, then that truth applies universally. If the counterargument to that is that everything is subjective, then that purported "universal" truth undermines itself at its root. So hooray for Westerns and kudos for the morality tales they often depict because, well, believe it or not, morality IS important. I especially liked the Two-Gun Kid because, as a masked hero (not unlike Zorro), he was very much the analogue of the traditional superhero (with the exception of Superman whose spectacles "mask" him in the opposite direction!). In addition to my gallery of published Two-Gun Kid art, therefore, I have begun commissioning artists to "populate" this sketch gallery as well. I trust that you will enjoy the artwork as much as I.
