Don Newton (1934–1984) was one of the best Phantom artists to exist. Don Newton Phantom Art is some of the most highest sought after comic art for collectors. His art is absolutely devine. So dark, with beautiful lines, the printed comic often didn't fully portray just how detailed the artist was. Interestingly Lee Falk, creator of The Phantom highly admired Don Newton's Phantom artwork also, evidence in a letter written from Lee to Don in the 1970's, which is in another collectors collection.
