I've acquired a collection of artwork, from two separate sources, by an artist who seems to have gone relatively undocumented. I had originally thought that the pieces were drawn by two or three different artists. Some are signed 'Kris', some are signed 'C.F.J.', some have 'Christopher Tomms' written on the back and the majority have no name or signature at all. However, it now seems that they are probably all by the same artist - Christopher F.J. Tomms. What I have found out so far about Tomms is as follows: His full name is Christopher Frederick James Tomms. He lived in Kent, England where he died in 2022. He had artwork published in some key fantasy magazines/fanzines in the 1970s, including 'Dark Horizons' #14 and #15 (1976) and 'Fantasy Tales' #1 (1977) which were distributed in the UK and the US. He also did work in some capacity for the Express group of newspapers in 1977 and probably later as well. I will add more details as I find them. If anyone has more information, I'd be pleased to hear. References: Dark Horizons #14 (1976).
