This art was hand-penciled & inked entirely by artist DAVE SIMONS, an only occasional opportunity in his career. Dave even cut his own Bristol boards to approximately 11"x17" size. There are 30 sequential pages, including 2 splashes and a double-page splash, and even the cover. Since Dave hand-rendered all the art these are not blueline inks but his actual inks over his actual pencils. It's been in his sister Bette's home for just over 15 years and as reported in a news article from May 27, 2024 is part of the Dave Simons Estate Collection that Bette Simons donated to the official 501(c)(3) non-profit Inkwell Awards on the 15th anniversary of his passing in 2009. An interesting note about the story content is that Christmas movies and specials are parodied in this issue that include Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964), A Christmas Story (1983), Alvin And The Chipmunks (1983), A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966), and It's a Wonderful Life (1946).
