CARDY - Teen Titans 25 ( 1st Lilith Clay )

Teen Titans 25 marked a new direction for the team. It also featured the first appearance of Lilith. Here's a great 3 page sequence. Hip, happening teenage dialog by new Teen Titans writer, Robert Kanigher, following Bob Haney.

This is Nick's first return to pencils and inks since Teen Titans 17. In those intervening issues, Nick was drawing Bat Lash. While on Teen Titans, Nick inked Neal Adams and Gil Kane. It's hard to say how that influenced Nick. However Nick's art is reflected in the dark mood of Kanigher's powerful story. These 3 pages just happen to be the lightest moment in the issue.
