Before he became one of EC's top men, Al Feldstein produced eye-popping "good girl" yarns for Fox, and this story is in a similar style to those Fox teen-humor comics. The first work Feldstein ever did for EC was for a never-published teen humor comic slated to be called "Going Steady With Peggy." Feldstein penciled the cover and this one story for the stillborn project under contract for Bill Gaines in 1948. When Gaines decided to cancel the project due to legal problems with Fox, Feldstein offered to tear up the "Peggy contract" if Gaines would give him regular work as an EC staff member. Gaines agreement to this proposal marked the beginning of a grand partnership, and led to the publication of many of the finest comics ever produced.
