Artist - Ernie Chan commissions, pin-up gallery

Fantastic color and black & white commissions done by Ernie Chan. May 24th, 2012 - Up until a few minutes ago I didn't know that Ernie Chan passed away on May 16th, nor did I know that he'd been sick with cancer for a while. He continued doing stellar work on the commissions I dreamed up for him, until shortly before he died. The last drawing he did for me was of DC's Firehair and Son of Tomahawk. When I thanked him for the drawing in an email, I said that no matter what the setting, in outer space, under the sea, in a big city, or in the wild west, the drawing is always far better than what I had envisioned, to which he replied, as he had so many times before, "My pleasure, Arthur." Knowing Ernie through our art transactions and through his art was my pleasure. The Superman/Batman drawing recently placed at the center of Ernie's own CAF gallery is one of my commissions. In it, I had asked for Superman to be in a classic flight pose, fllying into the dawn's light, waving goodbye to fellow hero Batman after a night of fighting crime. Crazy, but now I feel like it's Ernie's message to me, waving goodbye as he flies into the light. Arthur Chertowsky
