This is the only one of the top five where the position doesn't correlate with the price I paid. The price was Buzz's usual commission fee at the time. As I recall, it was his idea to do a commission and it was mine to get a variation on a Lady Death he had done previously. He turned around my meticulous models and did an eye-popping piece. I honestly think that this is the best pin up of its kind and I honestly think that the day will come when Buzz pieces will fetch several times their current price.
There is so much to like about this picture, I could write an article about it.
Buzz featured this on the first page of his 2005 sketch book and, as of this writing, it has been front and center on his home page.
Confidentially, what I knew about Lady Death when I commissioned this, aside from her appearance would'nt fill the comments part of a parking ticket. Asking for a Lady Death was shorthand for asking for a woman with huge hair, a huge chest and tiny clothes.. I asked that the eyes be closed to avoid the Orphan Annie look LD usually has.
