Beatty, Terry - MS. TREE #9 Cover

Purchased from Heritage Auctions in April 2018, this was once part of my old friend and former CFA-APA (Comic & Fantasy Art Amateur Press Association) member Ethan Roberts' collection (and inscribed to him). One of my many favourite covers to the series, since Terry did so many covers that I really enjoyed. It was Terry's covers that originally drew me to Ms. Tree, and I stayed for both his art and the great writing of Max Allan Collins.

This cover showed the clever inside joke of Ms. Tree jibing Mike Mist about being unable to solve the mystery in a minute (since his ongoing feature was "Mike Mist's Minute Mysteries.")

It was nice to purchase a part of an old friend's collection following his death - a pleasant reminder of our times spent together at conventions and the exchanges we shared in the CFA-APA. In addition, Gary Land gave me a "heads up" when the piece came to auction, for which I have thanked him.
