Q&A with Ivan Thompson
| Q: | Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why? |
| A: | I'm a big fan of Wally Wood, and have long wanted a quality Wood page or cover. This is the closest I've gotten thus far, and I traded several nice Corben originals to get it. |
| Q: | Please tell us a little about yourself. |
| A: | Professionally I'm a healthcare consultant and researcher, but I'm transitioning to an art career. |
| Q: | How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start? |
| A: | It's been probably 8-9 years now. My first piece was either an inexpensive but nice Gene Ha piece, or a Pogo Sunday page, both of which I still have. Before buying those two I guess I was just unaware of the possibility of collecting comic art, or didn't have the money to do so. |
| Q: | How do you display/store your collection at home? |
| A: | Most of my pieces are framed and on the wall of my studio. But I've pretty much run out of room! |
| Q: | What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions? |
| A: | Mark Schultz Xenozoic page, classic Berni Wrightson cover or page, Frazetta original (small), Stevens Rocketeer page, Jeff Jones inked whatever. I'm currently raising funds to buy one of the upcoming Schultz originals from the new Xenozoic story he's working on. Check out my for sale gallery - I have a few nice Richard Corben originals left. |
