Description

A big mismatch in my books, especially when Attuma has been given a BFH (Big Freakin' hammer) by some real badass Asgardian Gods! Good luck with that, Speedball! A simply stunning, action-paged page which to me has elements of classic Colan, a smidge of Toth brush mastery, a hint of Alex Ross, and of course all bound together very, very nicely with Mike Mayhew's very distinctive style! I love Mike's portrait work - it's always so well realised, very photorealistic - but this page shows another side to his skills - a lovely organic and very dynamic looseness: the figurework is spot-on, the layouts cinematic and flowing, and the ink-and-wash completes it all perfectly. What a craftsman! Great splash - geddit? Atlantean geek gag!
