The variant cover is credited only to Sienkiewicz, so it's probably his color. Pretty much all his covers in recent years, for many different comic publishers, have had that same distinctive coloring style, with no colorists credited, so I'm pretty sure it's his own.
I can't see any difference between this and the printed cover aside from digital color--and some minor digital edits--added over the scanned art. The line art looks identical. Are you sure this is just a prelim and not the actual original art?
