How can you not love John's colouring, you could spot his work from space it just glows so much. Stunning page and fantastic pick up.
Really showing your age now ;) & taste
Those bottom two panels are just poetry in motion, such a master of storytelling and the inking talent of a comic god.
Should an incredibly cool strip, a lot of heavy Toth style inking on the first pages, what is there not to love about this!
This is such a wonderful sketch, Abby will always be the only blonde in my life ;)
First time I looked at this and thought his head guard was teeth and wow thats one angry Prophet lol. Great image!
This is just an astonishing piece of work, Dean is an abolute powerhouse in putting detail into what seems a random display when painting. One of the best pages he has ever produced and a pleasure to see it in more detail than it ever showed in print.
I did consider Jose Gonzalez Iqual but all the examples I could find of his work from that era he had a much more stylized form of signature. Im unsure of Pepe as he didn't sign any of his Fleetway art and tricky to find copies of his work from Argentina.
Strangely one of the most impressive pieces to show up for me on here, even with a lot of crazy inking by Allard still shows some of that big hair wonder that made Steve a comic strip god.
Such a wonderful page, almost as if it came from a Tina page but with a mysterious giant hand floating about.
There is a huge shortage of Brand art about, nightmare to find good examples of his work. Your stuff is great.
Roger where ever he might be would thank someone with such good taste for a great compliment, We should have got to enjoy another 20 years of his work, such a fun talent gone so early.
Should a great sequence very much taken from Miller's DD #169 a few years earlier. I wonder how many times it had been used in the past, I remember a Silver Age Superman sequence done this way and also possibly one with multiple Two-Faces? Lovely lovely page.
Terror Inc was so much fun, I wonder if the writer of Jeepers Creepers pinched a lot of ideas from reading these books?
I can understand people hating Liefeld, he had a series of ups and downs with his art, im a huge fan of his early DC work with the likes of his Hawk and Dove work. Plus it has Bloodwulf who was a great fun character.
What an amazing page and the first panel leaves the rest of the page a hard task keeping up with it.
I know Awesome was a short lived company but it never released a bad book, awesome by name awesome by nature ;)
And thank you from our very own resident Marvel UK expert, your knowledge is a treasure trove ;)
Someone was reading Elektra Lives Again when inking those ninjas! Loved Mike's work on this series.
Seven years and no one has pointed out how incredibly cool this is !!!
What a great example of Terra at her finest, love it.
Im no real fan of Todd's art but I hope you stick to this budget because seeing his earlier pages inked by Tony is much nicer to see. Crazy layout, im not sure what he was drinking that night ;)
This is such a strong title image, Gil is a master inker.
Gil's pencils are always a treat if you ever want to part with this one let me know ;)
Who wouldn't love this on their wall, Mike was such a great guy and his work is very much missed by us all.
I love Jill's art and this is a great example, I never did like full splash pages but these 2/3 with panels just seems to make the page pop a lot better.
What a page!!! one of the best pages from one of the greatest fights ever in comics, this is way up there with a Hulk vs Thing Kirby page, love it.
Great image, I used to look forward to each issue as it came out just to see what crazy shit Kaare was going to get up to next, wish he would do more comics but after seeing his first movie I can understand why directing stole him away from us.
That is an actual sin, go out and buy all the Ellis Stormwatch, Authority and Plantary books this week and enjoy some of the best written books that brought us into a new millennium.
I can understand what you are saying about #312 but I have always been a fan of #313 as well, Bill was a great writer and showed it well on his Hulk run. Sadly the whole storyline gets lost with everyone ranting about the Byrne issue that followed that I personally hated, lovely art in places but terrible scripts, would have been great to see Mantlo/Byrne books.
What a wonderfully sultry Elektra, I miss Dan he was such a great guy and equally great artist.
Id give you it but the Snowbird panel dead center rocks my socks lol
I really like it, id imagine its from late 1946 - early 1947 but would still like to know more about it.
What a glorious combination of the perfect different era artists to work together, such a treasure you are very lucky.
Your opinion is first class it was a great start to a series.
This is the perfect example of why panel pages are better than covers, so much fun action and the colorist notes are just brilliant lol
Lovely page to start with I dread to think what comes next to top it ;)
I lovesss it ssso much !
