I don't know for sure, but assume that he preferred to draw her full face, knowing that he would later have the flexibilty of scaling and positioning when he got to the digital stage. It is a bit unusual though - don't think I've seen any other pages where he did this, usually he leaves the panel blank if he's going to patch it digitally.
