Vigilante! Haven't heard that name in a while. Tight book.
I never noticed before, but the motorcycle panels look very Sable/Grell like. It appears Pollard was reading Sable too ...
Seriously great page. Historic. Although ... what is Nexus' hand doing in front of what appears to be Sutta celebrating? Odd placement.
I can smell the cigarette smoke ... and taste the unseen whiskey.
I had to look it up - Blue Stake is such a Utah comment. lol
I wish he would bring back Binkley and his anxiety closet. I can only guess what would come out of that door each night in 2026 ...!
Trying to put together an entire issue is a fool's errand; when that issue is 40 years old it makes you Don Quixote. But I am rooting for you ... you can do it!
Amazing story and journey. I am not familiar with his work and look forward to finding a copy to read.
Great painted piece - but those are not the daughters of Nexus. They are 2 of the 3 Loomis sisters coming to take revenge on Nexus for executing their father.
The sword to scabbard ratio here is concerning - the sword is wide at the base and short at the handle. However, when Conan goes to put it away, the scabbard is wide at the mouth and narrows quickly, meaning he would only get an inch or so shealthed before it stops fitting. I can only imagine the rage that will ensue.
The broken chandelier will not slow her This time!
You are the expert, sir. You have an amazing group of her work, including WOIMS.
She is such a unique voice. You have encouraged me to go find my page by her and post it.
Painted studies by the Dude are like paintings to be studied by everybody else. He abides.
Amazing. The seminal issue where Jaime's style jumped from sci-fi to the cleaner lines and characters we came to know and love.
Nexus is using both arms to keep those comments away.
Thanks! It was good to finally meet you. How did things end up for you, was the shared booth worth it?
The painting Steve was working on all weekend had among other things Superman on the moon holding an American flag to the right of the moon landing craft. I told Steve that the scene was reminiscent of the 1980s MTV logo, if only he would paint mtv in the middle of the flag. He responded, "you know you are the second person to tell me that." Given that this exchange took place 5 minutes into the VIP session on Friday, I wonder how many of us older guys made the same comment over the weekend.
Whoops! Didn't notice. Changing it now. Thanks, Rick.
Note the text with that creepy smile - she is telling Zoe not to worry about her classmates killing themselves as statistically that is normal for teen girls that age.
Fritz(i) looks aghast, perhaps at the "Woims."
Kronk!
Yaaaaaaargh!
Whack!
What a barbarian!
What a great quote!! Rivals, say hello to my little friend!!!

Always a poignant reminder that, sometimes you can get what you want and still not be very happy.
"The past is never dead. It's not even past."
"(no relation)". That's hysterical. I never made that connection. Of course, as the series takes place 500 years in the future, can you truly be sure?
Fantastic get. I wondered who pulled the trigger on this one. And while not inexpensive, Steve sells much less dynamic painted pieces for two to three times more these days. Congratulations - I bet this will look incredible on your wall.
There are a few different ways to interpret what is happening in this scene on top of the rock - some innocent and some less so.
Excellent page. It brings back fond memories. The next year transition from Buscema/Mcleod to Sienkiewicz is still the most famous, and amazingly jarring change in comics history to me.
Thanks, I bow to your expertise. Although I am surprised you are only the SECOND comment on this piece?
You sorta did with the Uncanny Wolverroach!
Tim is a legend. Grimjack, Scout and Starslayer!
Swampy! You can really feel the pre-storm humidity in this scene.
A killer page, indeed. Any page where Nexus is blasting something is a key page in this series.
Great page by a master cartoonist (and a very nice person). Her Dykes to Watch Out For strip ran for 25 years was ground breaking and is not given its proper due. The nonchalance of her dog really centers the emotional romance of this scene.
"Unnnng .... " Errrrrk. Rrrrrrerk.
Happy New Year!
He looks upset that he was disturbed while writing. VERY UPSET, LIKE WE WON'T LIKE HIM WHEN HE IS MAD, UPSET.
Grail. One and done. Just like Bill, apparently ...🙀⚡️
