Great page by a master cartoonist (and a very nice person).  Her Dykes to Watch Out For strip ran for 25 years was ground breaking and is not given its proper due. The nonchalance of her dog really centers the emotional romance of this scene.

That large frigate is parked way to close to the beach.  Its definitely beached and muct be waiting for high tide.  The captain should have pared them further offshore and launched small boats to the beach.  C'mon!

An amazing page from an amazing issue. The art, lettering and incredibly accurate futurism get all the attention, but don't overlook how tightly scripted the first 12 issues of Flagg! are. The story has so many threads that come together in issue 12 - it is Chaykin's most mature work, done almost 45 years ago. I will put that 12 issue set up against almost any run for storytelling alone. 

That 4th image is,how my dog looks at me when it's hungry. 

The devil/demon image is captured four times in the painting, which took me repeated viewings to notice. 

I purchased it sight unseen from Alex at least a year ago.

I'm so glad you ended up with this page. Such a one-off classic of mid-1980s Jaime. I especially like his styling of teen Ray's clothing. It is somewhat poignant to now see this knowing how life treats those two; I wonder if Jaime had already plotted some of that future when he drew this. I don't remember thinking Ray and Doyle were particularly important characters back then. 

Badger is an expert at tree fighting!

I agree 100% - it makes the character's flaws more complex and meangingful.  However, I quibble with this - you call the Badger a "hero" ... ?  Baron designed him to be the embodiment of an idea, that any person who willingly puts on a costume is obviously insane.

The Badger with two weapons seems like a failure of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
