Are You My Mother? pg. 220 (2012) Owner: Mark V Comment posted on 1/12/2026 Great page by a master cartoonist (and a very nice person). Her Dykes to Watch Out For strip ran for 25 years was ground breaking and is not given its proper due. The nonchalance of her dog really centers the emotional romance of this scene. |

Classic, memorable cover from Colwell. As skillful a painter as he is a storyteller and you get both with this piece, which feels like something that should be in the Lucas Museum. Did you pick it up from him? I found it at a small auction house. I may have been the only bidder. |

Chaykin | American Flagg! | Complete Nonsense | 1984 Owner: Tom McDonald Comment posted on 9/21/2025 An amazing page from an amazing issue. The art, lettering and incredibly accurate futurism get all the attention, but don't overlook how tightly scripted the first 12 issues of Flagg! are. The story has so many threads that come together in issue 12 - it is Chaykin's most mature work, done almost 45 years ago. I will put that 12 issue set up against almost any run for storytelling alone. |

Alex Graham, The Devil's Grin: Book One Trade Paperback Cover (Fantagraphics 2025) Owner: Doug L. Comment posted on 9/18/2025
Marcus Wai said:
Such a great clash of influences put into the blender! It feels like there's 80's action, gum shoe detective, horror, and more with the blood drops of dread beginning to rain over them. That easel looks like it's a multimedia piece in itself. The devil/demon image is captured four times in the painting, which took me repeated viewings to notice. |

Love and Rockets #28, pg. 25 (1988) Owner: Mark V Comment posted on 9/18/2025 I'm so glad you ended up with this page. Such a one-off classic of mid-1980s Jaime. I especially like his styling of teen Ray's clothing. It is somewhat poignant to now see this knowing how life treats those two; I wonder if Jaime had already plotted some of that future when he drew this. I don't remember thinking Ray and Doyle were particularly important characters back then. |

Bill Reinhold, Badger issue 6 page 28 Owner: Doug L. Comment posted on 9/11/2025
Marcus Wai said:
It's great to see that more complex side to the character and how trauma doesn't just go away, but lingers even for heroes. I agree 100% - it makes the character's flaws more complex and meangingful. However, I quibble with this - you call the Badger a "hero" ... ? Baron designed him to be the embodiment of an idea, that any person who willingly puts on a costume is obviously insane. |
