This is really cool, especially seeing the contrast between the original and the published versions.  You really get a sense of how the visual effects enhance the published art with the lighting and coloration.

I think the first major disappointment I had as a comic reader was the implosion of the original JLA-Avengers meeting,  Thanks for nothing, Jim Shooter...

Fred Hembeck could have been an interestng Silver Age artist.  I'm not sure that he could have made it as a superhero artist, but he could have done imaginative things with funny animals and more fantastical features.

This is peak Carl Barks, showing everything that is loved about his work - the action, slightly goofy but genuinely menacing and thrilling.  Imagineering should build a Donald Duck ride from the visual inspiration of this painting.

There are several issues of Kamandi with talking tigers, and Mr. Tawny here, and Hobbes.  Beyond that I can't think of more.

This is a fun page, and it's always good to see talking tigers.

I really enjoyed your story of how you got this art.  I never got a chance tomeet Mr. Perez, but by all accounts he was a wonderful person, in addition to being an all-time great comic artist.

Val Semeiks is a masterfully versaitle artist.  He is a great action artist, and has a great sense of visual humor.  He is also really good at surreal and absurd concepts.

This is a really fun piece that apparenty antipcates the later populariy of the Batman '66 comics.

Losing George Perez was one of the worst things about 2022.  He realy does live on in his work.  His smiling face here captures his wonderful spirit.

I have recieved a lot of rejection letters.  This one at least has some humor and some encouragement, and an editor replying with a personal note is usually a good sign that they saw enough promise in your work to want to see more of it.

This is cool.  I read Darwyn Cooke's Batman-Spirit teamup comic recently, and it is fun to see that Will Eisner actually did one too.  I remember that Eisner did a similar drawing with Superman and The Spirit the previous year to celebrate Superman's 50th anniversary.

For 1970s kids Superfriends were one of the gateways to superheroes. Marvin, Wendy, and Wonder Dog were maybe not the most dynamic superhero sidekicks, but they were fun, and seeing Wonder Dog in action brings back fond memories.

This is a nice way to remember Neal Adams.  He and Denny O'Neil gave us the Batman we know and love today and helped invent comics as literature in the process.

In retrospect this was likely one of the last times that George Perez drew Wonder Woman.  His take on the character is definitive, and his work will keep him with us long into the future.
