Wow! What an amazing page Jack, Stan and Setinels!
I grew up during the Bronze Age of DC Comics and I loved The Spook! And I worship Nick Cardy. What an amazing cover artist! I had the pleasure of meeting him years ago at Heroes Con down in North Carolina. Such a nice guy.
Thank you, Ned. I chuckled from time to time as I drew, inked and colored it. It took a ton of time to do so I'm glad you like it!
Oh wow, that's pretty hilarious!
Thank you for the kind words Shelton and I'm glad you liked this strip. I have a ton of fun doing these!
Yeah, your right he's a bit inebriated there. Although I think that's the pose I'm most proud of in this piece! The concept came from the guy I did the commisssion for.
Thanks for the compliment John. This commission was the concept of a guy that I did I a JSA Versus Solomon Grundy piece for a couple of years ago. I almost finished coloring this one but then got onto an animation project for Netflix which is devouring my time. Hopefully I'll have this colored and posted in a couple of weeks.
Thank you John. I'm inking this thing right now. It's 14 x 44 inches. A real beast!
Me too! I like drawing more obscure characters sometimes. Thanks for the comment Mr. CM-J!
Thanks again John. Sometimes I really enjoy drawing these more obscure chracters.
Thanks Micheal- I always thought that he was an underappreciated character, so I was surprised when a number of people who are JSA fans commented on this when I posted it on Facebook a few months back.
Thanks Rob. I struggle with coloring. I can't tell you how many versions I did before I got to this point!
Thanks Bill. I love drawing DC's vintage heroes and I love sharing those drawings with other Golden Age lovers.
Thanks Rob. I took the pic at work with my IPOD camera. Not so good. I guess I'll have to bring the piece home and run it under my scanner.
Like I said I'm on a JSA kick. Actually I've been getting back to superheroes in general. I'm starting to have my work for DC comics fantasies again.
Thanks Rob. I'm on a JSA kick! Yes the colors are digital but the pencils and ink are done on paper.
Congratulations on having such a great piece of art in your collection.
NIce clean line work! Great composition. Great Villians!
This looks great Rob. I love all these JSA pieces.
Thanks Rob. I'm pretty happy with this myself so I'm glad you like it as well.
Thanks Rob! I love drawing JSA characters and I'll probably make a gallery just for them soon.
Thank you Michael. I love the old JSA characters. I'm working on an Hourman drawing right now!
Thanks Aidan this Wildfire is from the Cockrum, Grell days of the Legion. That's probably my favorite era.

Thanks for the compliment Edward. I'd like to color this one some day!
Thanks Kevin! The Fatal Five are some of my favorite villains. They actually scared me a little bit when I was a kid!
A few years ago down in Charlotte NCs Heroes Con, I had the honor of watching Nick Cardy's table while he took a ten minute break to go the bathroom! Growing up in the 70's I was mesmorized by his covers and would trace the figures. I specifically rmember doing that on JLA #s 101 and 104. He had a real knack for picking an image that would get your attention and hold it.
