Quintessential Thorne and how great to own an original TCJ cover. Come for the pretty girls, stay for the exquisite pen and brush work. Congrats!
BRAVO!
what a beautiful piece. I am a huge fan of Dave McKean's work – – I have a good half dozen or so of his pages from CAGES, which I think is an underrated masterpiece ... even though it has its flaws.
INVISIBLE CITIES is one of my favorite books of all time. I should probably get one of these…. Where did you get yours?
fantastic addition to your collection. Congratulations.
Just amazing and I don't feel that Thorne'a genius is widely appreciated enough.
Great page Bob.
You can never have too much Los Bros art!
I feel the same way. This is one of my favorite pages in the entire history of comics and I can't believe I own it. 😊
Absolutely beautiful.
McGinnis was really at his best on these Brett Halliday covers.
A beautiful page and as @Marcus Wai notes Patterson looks really good over Zeck.
How much would I love to see more art like this on CAF...
Beauty--
Beautiful page from my very favorite series of the Vertigo line.
I'm glad to see this cover gets some visibility via the CAF mailings. It's a truly beautiful piece of art and Barreto's work on this series is tremendously underrated. I'm not a Shadow fan for the most part (unless it's Howard Chaykin deconstructing him), but I enjoyed this series very much back in the day and especially the Doc Savage crossover issues. Congratulations on a beautiful piece in your collection.
One of my favorite stories in comics history. I only wish it were available in a collection in the original black-and-white/wash. The recolored version is not great.
bravo!
You have to love the panels with blank backgrounds. What a great stylistic trick.
Nice piece, and I, too, am a big fan of Graff's art.
Congrats, Jeff!
Absolute home run. I especially like the line work on the fence and the venetian blinds.
That is a really beautiful page from a great story.
congratulations!
That is a freaking GREAT page! If you ever get tired of it, let me know.
Congrats!
And to your point, I'm not a fan of "pin-ups" but this is very much a narrative illustration. Bravo!
Fred, that's a beautiful illustration, and I would never have guessed MAO. Congrats. Gorgeous ink-slinging and a dynamic composition.
A fantastic page, prime Manara era, and from a criminally underrated book. Nice work!
