Great detail in this illustration. It gives hope that anyone can have an opportunity to be recognized for good deeds and contributions- as a hero - even during the depression era.

Probably one of my favorite illustrations from Gaar Williams. Beautifully rendered and I just love the added blue accents. Reminds me of the old pirate swashbuckling adventures with secret maps and treasures -with an unfortunate outcome if shared with loved ones.

Such a beautifully rendered illustration! The tree has a Arthur Rackham feel to it - So clever!

Reminds me of the constant widening of the local freeways around the city I live in today. The content and meaning of this illustraiton sure holds true today some 91 years later.

Amazing! Published in the November 1917 edition of Good Housekeeping. "A prayer for the Road's End" by Theodosia Garrison... (and was also published in other magazines of that time). congrats!!!!! I'd love to it framed and matted!!
