DescriptionAs I mentioned elsewhere in the gallery, Alex Toth approach to story telling and his art style became the "house style" at Standard in the 1950's. And this can be seen in this splash to a story that appeared in Intimate Love 24. Like the Toth splash, the main character is in a swirl of names and confusion, and if you look at the faces in the bottom tier they are definitely Toth-inspired. I bought this as an Art Saaf story inked by Mike Peppe... but the more I look at it, the more I think it is all Peppe. As with the Colletta story, from the editor's notes the pencils and inks were delivered the same day which suggests one artist.Social/Sharing |
