DescriptionWerewolf by Night, Red Wolf, Capwolf, and now…Maria Wolf :)This is actually 2 separate pieces on 2 separate 9x12 boards. The Black Panther I requested as a commission a while back and fellow collector bud and ar-teest himself, Eranga, picked it up for me at NYCC and brought it to OAX. Since I got it there, I’m counting that as part of this string of OAX pick ups :) And the White Tiger was a separate buy directly from Maria, a pre-done piece she had brought to a con that I just liked. It was a funny coincidence that I didn’t see at all when getting these 2 pieces at different times. Both cat characters. Opposite colors in the names and costumes. One male, one female. And one facing left and one facing right…felt like a Street Fighter II vs image, lol. “Round 1…FIGHT!” They felt connected and looked cool together so I’m deciding to post ‘em that way. I dig how big Maria draws a lot of her dudes. Clearly the case with this BP, with all her uniquely detailed stylization on display. The big claws, the other ornamentation, the veins…she definitely spent some time on this one. Then you got the lither White Tiger – same level of detail throughout, and what really got me was that claw swipe. Just loved how she rendered the movement in the slashing arm. Overall, Maria’s last name “Wolf” fits, as she’s got a wolven vibe to her stuff! Social/Sharing |

I feel sorry for White Tiger. The Incredible Panthulk is going to destroy her with a single blow, no doubt!

You could say I lost my belief in my only search
You could say I got my best illustations
You could say all of this and worse, but
If Maria Wolf my faith in you
There'd be nothing Wolf for me to do
Some would say Black Panther's lost man in a lost world
You could say I lost my faith in the Marvel on TV
You could say I'd lost my belief in art exhibitions
They all seemed like art show hosts to me
If the Panther lose my faith in you

Got my ups and downs, but I ain't there...yet! Though do have some catching up to do. I do like me a nice art exhibition still :)

Nice - very Street Fighter man, good call there. I don't think we ever got BP in any of the Marvel v Capcom games, at least I don't remember him being in any. That would have been awesome.

She is such an awesome person. Met her at my small (and I mean small) local con, was hanging out with her dying laughing. Then, I found out she was an artist LOL... loved her ever since. GREAT EXAMPLES of her style! And really cool to meet ya' finally too.

That's funny y'all had a good convo before even knowing she was an artist! Yeah, she's a joy to chat with. She definitely digs these more animalistic characters (ahem, her last name) including Sabretooth...I think you may have some pieces with him in it :)

Even though, visually, it reminds me a little of Venom (a character I despise), I still dig that buffed out Panther. Really nice rendering and detail, especially on the grass.
