DescriptionWerewolf by Night, Red Wolf…let’s keep this “wolf” thing going. Coming back from the bronze age with those last couple posts to a modern piece, and non-published, but also picked up at OAX, from our bud and rep Jiggy of Next Comic Art!Capwolf! So I didn’t read these stories originally or am I a big fan of this incarnation of Cap – it was just ALL about how the piece looked. Saw it online when good collector friend George H shared, and I went for it shortly after. The design use of shadow and light is so effective. Chiaroscuro, baby! It’s like Cap’s just transformed and is emerging from the dark and stepping into the light. “Howling Commandos…assemble!” And it’s a nice size at a little wider than 11x17. Alright, I THINK I’m set on the wolf front for a bit. I think :) Social/Sharing |

Love the graphic quality here. Admit that at first I thought it was Eranga art!

And out come the wolves. The use of contrast works well to properly capture the character. Hidden in the shadows, Capwolf is a force to be reckoned with.

So glad you snagged this one. Love the pose and how Amor perfectly drew Capwolf coming out of the shadows to create a wonderfully dramatic image.

Appreciate you sharing it when it was posted! A little different for Amor stylistically from a lot of his other stuff...and it worked! Thanks, George, and all, for the comments!

Yes, I'm bein' shadowed by chiaroscuro
Moonshadow, Orlando
Leapin' and hoppin' on chiaroscuro
Full Capwolf, Orlando
And if I ever wolf my Cap
Use my howl, use command
Oh, if I’m ever wolf and man
Oh if, I will have a John Amor
And if I ever choose the style
If my colors all run dry
Yes, if George ever saw online
Oh if, my wolf have to try Amor

Oh no! If Cap sees the star on his shield, it'll trick him into thinking it's nightfall and trigger a change into his werewolf form!

What is this CapWolf you speak of? What sorcery is this?
Nice furry Cap coming out of the shadows, who does he think he is Sabretooth?

Okay, I guess I really have to get back into reading comics again. I had no idea this was an actual character. I thought you (or John) had just made him up. LOL! Such a powerful image. Love all the black of course. The high contrast design is really stunning. Congrats K!

Thankfully the high contrast lighting technique is fabulous, because the character itself? Uh.....

I also didn't know Capwolf was a character. New Avengers by Night (only) team? The lighting here is what really sticks out. Striking!
