DescriptionIt recently dawned on me that it might be a fun experiment to get my good buddy, Chris Stevens, to do his marker magic-painting technique over my open, simplified line art. I dont want to toot my own horn but THAT turned out to be a great idea. We've had a lot of fun so far and plan on doing a whole series of classic Avengers to later be combined in to one larger image. You can see how I deviated from my initial rough layout here. There are some things I like more in the layout and some that I prefer in the final line art. Aint that always the way? Social/Sharing |

There was this mindless insanity to the way Ditko approached the character. I was trying to channel some of that in the initial breakdown and, while I lost a little along the way, I think it still came through in the face. Thanks!

Ok the finished product is ridiculous awesomeness. I want to know if your inspiration was that old Hulk toy that busts out of the cage.

No, but I was just talking to someone about that toy recently. I had one as a kid. Who knows? Maybe it was subliminal. 8)
