DescriptionThis is one of Gil Elvgren's best ever paintings, and if you don't believe me, take it from legendary NYC art dealer Louis Meisel, the man who literally wrote the book on the artist (incidentally, this painting graces the back cover of the current hardcover edition of "Gil Elvgren: All His Glamorous American Pin-Ups", and is one of the two Elvgrens that Meisel and his family posed in front of for a photograph on the second page of the book). A true masterpiece of American pin-up and illustration art, this has one of the prettiest color schemes in the artist's oeuvre, while of course having all the classic elements you'd want in the perfect Elvgren example. I consider this painting to be one of the artist's two finest works along with "Anchors-A-Wow".Social/Sharing |

Gene, it's truly something special to even get to see Gil Elvgren's work in person but to then actually own one like this...congratulations on an incredible painting by "THE" master of good girl pinup. Simply amazing!

I have to agree. This may very well be one of Elvgren's top paintings. The bright, vivid colors just makes the painting pop. Congratulations on adding a true grail to your collection. Cheers! N.
