Gene Park's Gallery of Original Comic and Illustration Art
I started reading and collecting comic books in 1983, bought my first piece of original comic book art ("OA") in 2002 and original illustration art in 2003. My OA interests are broad-reaching; I have collected everything from Krazy Kat strips from the 1910s to brand new comic art from the 2010s and 2020s, though my sweet spot in terms of nostalgia and appreciation is squarely the 1970s and 1980s, especially the Uncanny X-Men (#94-#213), Daredevil (#158-#233) and Conan/Red Sonja (pre-1986 only), as well as pretty much anything and everything memorable (Marvel, DC and independent) from the early-to-mid 1980s timeframe in particular including, but not limited to, Wolfman/Perez-era New Teen Titans; Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run and V for Vendetta; Walt Simonson's Thor run; Bronze Age Amazing Spider-Man; Block Mania/Apocalypse War Judge Dredd; New Mutants #1-31; Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters #1-6; The Adventurers; early Jon Sable, Freelance; '80s-era Transformers, G.I. Joe and Robotech; '80s-era Batman and Vigilante; and much more!
My current collecting focus is primarily memorable Marvel (and a few DC & indie titles) artwork from 1983-86, especially Paul Smith Uncanny X-Men pages. These and a very few specific things from outside that timeframe are detailed in my Want List - please click this link for specifics.
