DescriptionMarvel Comics aficionados will recognize this page from the 1967 story "If This Be...Modok!", which introduces the Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing, the kooky-looking super-villain who is now starring in his own TV series ("Marvel's M.O.D.O.K.") on Hulu!This page was penciled by Kirby and exactingly inked by Joe Sinnott, showing again why he was Kirby's best inking partner during the Silver Age of Comics (with all due respect to Frank Giacoia, Syd Shores and other respected Kirby collaborators during this period). Panel #1 is a flying shield stunner that was used as the cover for the Penguin Classics Marvel Collection: Captain America TPB; panel #3 is a great image of Cap and Agent-13 (Sharon Carter) that has also been used in Marvel merchandising (I saw it on a licensed t-shirt a while back); and panel #5 is a spectacular image of Modok from his first full appearance issue in a panel sizzling with "Kirby crackle" - pure Marvel Magic!! Horrifying. Imagine all the entertainment and pleasure that would have been deprived to the world had MODOK actually perished in that last panel.

I've always enjoyed Kirby's Cap even more than his FF, so seeing the Dream Team of Kirby and Sinnott on this Cap page is truly a treat!!!

You just can't beat dialog like that. Modok going down in flames in the final panel is priceless. Marvel/Kirby greatness.
