Description

Batman and Nocturna share a mystical moment in this exceptionally drawn page by the art tandem of Don Newton and Alfredo Alcala, both at the top of their game! The page features Batman suffering the effects of Nocturna's drugged perfume and is just drop-dead gorgeous. I love Alcala's inks in general and this page stands out even more than the other Alcala pages in my collection - it's a stunner!

Thanks, Amir! A page like this to me is proof that one doesn't always need to break the bank to get a really great piece of comic art, even in this market. There's just so much to appreciate in a page like this; to me, it's one of the most beautifully-drawn pages in my entire collection.

I can't agree more. It's simply a thoughtful lesson on great taste.

Newton pages on Batman are usually quite amazing because he was a superb artist, but this one is specially good. As you said it is not necessary to spend a lot to get a really good page! It is more a matter of good taste than of money!

Congrats on the auction win! An exceptional Newton Batman page. They just don't draw them like this anymore.

Newton / Alcala was one of the best art teams of its period.  And probably the best at DC.

I'm glad you didn't bid me up further because I was prepared to take it to Crazy Town!

Noctuna knows how to set the mood and Alcala shows what he could have done in romance comics!  For 1984, it's very steamy!

Lovely page.  Newton was so underrrated.
