Do you remember if it via auction or direct sale? I'm a bit surprised to hear that it may still be your favorite though, simply because it looks like you ultimately veered in more of a Science Fiction and Horror direction after buying it. Good to hear, though!

Good to hear, though!it was a direct sale from illustration house just before i started working there. during a time when very few people wanted this stuff. i was big into it since early eighties but grew up on science fiction and horror so still love that stuff. i mainly list that type of thing here because it seems to fit in a little more so with the viewers plus i convinced dan zimmer to put it on his radar issue cover so possibly more people now know this image. i collect erotic art and sleaze more than anything. the competition is too steep for me on so much of the sci-fi stuff! i started collecting paperback art strictly at first but then branched off years later. you actually own an old piece of mine i got in a larger purchase of art from one publisher that a friend of mine originally owned.

Well if you have other vintage paperback covers, I hope you'll continue to post them here in your gallery. I know what you mean about the values of the Sci-Fi art. Thankfully, that's one genre that never appealed to me enough to collect. Can you tell me more about this large art purchase from a publisher you mentioned? Those "warehouse find" stories are always fun to hear! Which of my pieces did you once own?

I've never seen this before and I totally understand why it's one of your favorites. The composition, the expression, the way the darkness gathers toward the bottom, the tilt of his head, the absurd dress, all that -- wow. Oh, and then the title. Perfect.
