Description

So some months ago, I had this brainstorm to utilize some beautiful Dave Stevens Bettie Page art and place into a faux cover. Turns out my first selection of art had already been called dibs by fellow CAF'er and artist Conny Valentina.
SO I move to plan and Gary and I went back and forth with placement and logo art andrequests for word baloons. I wanted Cliff Secord with Marilyn, anothewr iconic 50's pinup that Dave drew so well, and Gary delivered this incredible commission.

Every aspect of this is stunning to behold, and Gary's talents are on display here in every brush stroke. Great artist, great person to deal with.

I have included a few of the ref shots I sent to Gary for this piece so you can see where he drew his inspiration.

Wow! This is absolutely fantastic! I have Terry Twigg's tribute to this classic shot, which was done in color. I think this b&w piece is so much closer to Dave's timeless original. And I love the cover concept, especially the shot of Dave and Marilyn! Great idea!
