DescriptionThere are a number of wonderful Jack Kirby pages of Captain America in full ‘slug fest’ mode. This page offered something a little different, but just as captivating. Jack’s superb storytelling skills and ability to visually physically advance the action as displayed in the first three top panels as Cap enters, moves through and then pops out of wonderful Kirbytech machinery, really sees him at the peak of his powers.A further interesting point of note is that every visual of Colonel Kuro Chin has some quantity of ‘white out’ applied to certain aspects of the face…was this to adjust the original drawing by Jack; the first inked arrangement; or a redo? Whatever, at least in this case, the final visual doesn’t look like an abomination of Jack’s work, no real shades of the horrible makeovers on Jack’s Superman faces…aka DC style. Sold through HERITAGE June 2025. Social/Sharing |

Count me in as a fan of panel 2. That's where my eye went immediately. That angle is so weird and dramatic it's something only a guy like Kirby could pull off.

He interprets and understands visual depth so well, and apparently he worked so quickly..GENIUS.
