Description

Subscription AD used in Flash #277, #279 and Adventure Comics #465. The return by date shown in the form was Oct 1, 1979, Flash 277 was cover dated Sept 1979, 279 and Adv 465 were Nov 1979 indicates this AD was used from June-Aug 1979.

Tossing in a casual Angel Dust reference as part of an advertisement was probably not the best way to entice parents in 1979 into purchasing a comic book subscription for their 8-10 year old - an age bracket that during the late 1970's represented the bulk of DC's readership.

Massive PCP dosing reference aside, I remember this AD very well from my early childhood days of comic book reading. A great mini-recap of the somewhat ground breaking first few issues of the Death of Iris Saga rendered nicely by Dick Giordano.

The first panel is a stat, the other 3 panels are all 100% real art

Wanted all early All-Star Squadron art from the preview in JLA 193 and certain pages from issue #4: I beg of you don't sell yourself short, please contact me if you have them as I will pay top dollar.
