DescriptionDavid Finch and Danny Miki's Legion of Monsters: Morbius (2007) #1 page 4 (Marvel). Just when you thought it was safe to go out at night again David Finch scares the hell out of you with his breathtaking rendering of Marvel's favorite vampire. David Finch created this 2007 full page splash image of Count Dracula for Legion of Monsters: Morbius #1. Enter the count looking scary as ever and absolutely Wolfman/Colan-worthy. The story has Dracula using his daughter Lilith to wipe out vampire-competition in order to strengthen his own position in the bloodsucker-organisation.The character of Count Dracula is one of the most famous in all fiction. He first appeared in Dracula, a gothic horror novel by Irish author Bram Stoker published in 1897. Marvel was unable to use Dracula and other horror characters during the Silver Age due to the restrictions of the Comics Code Authority. As American culture shifted to a more liberal bent in the early 1970s, the Code was amended to allow horror stories featuring vampires and werewolves to appear for the first time since the early 1950s. Marvel jumped on this opportunity launching a number of titles, the most successful and long-running of which was Tomb of Dracula. The character appeared throughout the 70s and then was periodically brought back for stories such as the one featuring this Finch splash. Social/Sharing |

I've never read Tomb of Dracula. I know nothing about Dracula in the MU. But I DO KNOW that Finch was born to draw him for Marvel.
This is fantastic and moody in the best, most deliciously horrifying way.
