This is so awesome and everybody knows about it. How cool. So now, I'm thinking what a great commission theme this would make. Hand a copy to pro artists and have them do a piece based on the book in some way shape or form, as a tribute to the book. How cool would that be as a companion gallery? Looking forward to seeing the rest of the book as it goes up. Thanks so much for sharing it here!

Despite Stan and Big John's efforts and my own enthusiastic (well, at first anyway) efforts, I accomplish little in the way of artistic development. Ah well, for all my failures with the drawing pencil, seeing this cover prelim still gives me the warm fuzzies all over.

I love this. Even though I don't draw, as a fan, it was great to see how it was actually done. And no one did it better than John Buscema. This is a real treasure. Congrats!

Congrats on owning a piece of comic book history Brian! Whatever meager artistic skills I have, I owe completely to this book--I loved it as a kid, and it completely changed my approach to doodling and expressing myself visually with pen and paper.

My memory of this book is that my father gave me some $$$ for my birthday and I bought this book. I loaned it to a guy in school (Adolfo the rat) never got it back. He said he sold it.
