DescriptionHaven’t posted much in a while and this year in general as I’ve had lots going on but wanted to put up this recent get from Heroes Con. Happy to have added a Thundercats cover from the new run by series interior artist Drew Moss! Picked it up directly from him at the show. NICE guy. Thanks, man!Got both main hero and main baddie in Lion-O and Mumm-Ra, and love the contrast in how Lion-O is rendered in the more traditional black and white line work vs Mumm-Ra in the hazy ink washed cloudy sky. And a fun novel idea that we hadn’t seen yet (surprisingly!) with mummy bandages coming up from underground to ensnare the Lord of the Thundercats! I’d recommend checking the series out, too…fun twists on the T-Cats mythos from writer Declan Shalvey and penciller Drew Moss. I’ve become a big fan. I have a couple other back-to-back pages by Drew featuring Panthro (see in my gallery) and now stoked to add this cover. Also…was GREAT seeing my fellow art collector buds at Heroes a couple weekends ago…always a grand ‘ol time. ‘Til the next, my friends! Social/Sharing |

Love Drew's work, and he's a great guy (and local to me)!

I've never been a Thundercats follower, but as pretty much all the images artists draw of them is cartoony or animated in style, it's nice to finally see one looking a bit more realistic looking, as opposed to using the tv show blueprint for the characters.

Lol, hadn't thought of that one. An ancient, evil, ball o' yarn, lol!
Thanks for the add and chuckle, man, and all, for the comments!

Come on you should have got a Cheetara. Its been so long since I saw the cartoon I cannot remember all the names. Was the annoying one called Snarf????

Lol, I may get the Ms. lady cheetah in here yet!
And yes...Snarf. The most annoying part was him saying his name, lol. But I'll give him a pass - this was one of my shows, in spite, as a youngster! Thanks, PS!

It's a windy night
Of thirst and mane
Of Shalvey kitty
Of a hundred names
Spirits fly high and it sparks Lion-O
Thundercats are all creeping out the back door slow
And the cats are out, Mumm-Ra Dynamite
They're headed for Cool Street sword omen time
And here comes that old Serpentine
The life of Declan can leave you far behind
They're just cats without claws
Mumm-Ra had a good reason
Mumm-Ra had a cause

I like this a lot. Ink wash always reminds me of Tim Sale's work. Congrats!

I can see why you were so excited about this one at the show. Lion-O casting off the bandages has a fantastic animated style, while keeping every ounce of defiance. Super nostalgic for me, too- big Thundercats fan since childhood! Congrats!

Ink wash Mumm-Ra!!!!!! Fantastic composition here coupled with a fierce pose combines for one great cover. Have always liked Drew Moss's art style and this is a top tier example.
