Description

Jon Sable, Freelance, was one of my favorite indie titles back when I was just starting to read comics (I was also very into Chuck Norris and Sylvester Stallone films; mercenary/military paperback series like Mack Bolan, The Black Eagles, and The SOBs; etc. around the same time!) As such, I was ecstatic to finally get, back in 2015, a great early cover from this hugely nostalgic series for me. This one is from the very memorable two-part "M.I.A." storyline that ran in issues #12-13, where Sable and some of his compatriots go back to Vietnam, Chuck Norris-style, in search of prisoners of war.

What an awesome time to be a fan. Congrats, Gene. This one really slipped through the cracks for whatever reason. I don't know if folks realized just how rarely these pop up.

Gene you've convinced me to add this series to my reading list. It's a little before my time... i was 5. But I love this era of comics, especially the independent / creator owned work.

Your description speaks to me.. love some Norris flicks! Real cool cover! Looking forward to checking out the series.
